After much anticipation, national heartthrob and rock god David Usher and his good friends at EMI Music Canada have decided on a name and release date for the follow-up to 1998's Little Songs.
Morning Orbit, the Moist frontman's fifth record and second solo album in eight years, will arrive in stores on July 31.
In preparation for the big release, Usher is shooting a video in Toronto this weekend for the first single, "Alone In The Universe." Described by the label as "a killer rock track that draws you in with its captivating chorus and awesome wail of guitars!!!" the song was mixed by U.K. producer Dave Eringa of Manic Street Preachers fame.
Apparently Eringa wasn't the only name lending a hand to Usher during the making of Morning Orbit. Rumor has it that the album also features some support from fellow Moist man Mark Makoway, as well as Mr. Tea Party Jeff Martin and the former Informer himself, Snow. We'll be able to see the extent of the Canadian posse's contributions to David's music when Morning Orbit hits stores.
