What '80s revival would be complete without a nod from the princes of electronic pop?

Depeche Mode have returned from whatever nefarious cubbyhole they've been hiding in since the less-than-stellar reception of 1997's Ultra. Fans wandered around in a funk, weeping into their black sleeves that perhaps their much-beloved band had sunk back into the earth — perhaps indefinitely.

May 15 will herald the latest album from the band, Exciter. And with an overpriced tour, to boot.

Chances are you've already heard the latest single, "Dream On," playing on radio stations or picked it up on Napster or through the DM website, so what can we tell you about the rest of the album? There's still lots of bloopity bleeps, distortion and those trademark swooshes, along with Dave Gahan's lovelorn voice.

We predict this isn't the last you'll hear of these boys, either — remixes, here we come.
