Montreal Brit-Pop aficionados The Dears continue to rack up the platitudes.

One of the best indie bands in Canada, according to Chart's music editor Aaron Brophy, they've been nominated for three Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI) awards. They've gotten the nod in the Album Of The Year, Concert Of The Year and Pop Artist Of The year categories.

If you want to show how dear you hold The Dears then show your support by either voting for your favourite Montreal artist at www.mondo-live.com or if you live in the Montreal area you can cast your ballot at the following record stores or venues: L'Oblique, Cabaret, Steve's Music Store, Cheap Thrills, Rayon Laser, Cafe Chaos, Noize, HMV St. Catherine and Cafe Campus.

The Dears will be competing with luminaries of the Montreal scene such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Cafeine, Planet Smashers, DJ Ram, The Datsons.

Montreal ska luminaries are also nominated in the Ska Band Of The Year category.

You can also win a copy of The Dears End Of A Hollywood Bedtime Story by listening to CBC Radio Two's RadioSonic program for the next two weeks, along with a prize pack from Chart Magazine. This is in preparation for the Canadian Music Week showcase presentation of The Dears who perform with The Weekend, Maestro, Mike O'Neill, Joel Plaskett and Tuuli on March 31 at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, a co-presentation with Chart Magazine.
