Matt Good Band Donates $15,000 To Charity

Matthew Good Band Generated $15,000 For Charity

It seems like hardly a day goes by without ChartAttack receiving news about the Matthew Good Band. Today was a banner day.

You may remember that MGB recently performed seven gigs around Vancouver over the holidays. The shows at the Commodore Ballroom set a record for the most sold out gigs since the venue reopened by a single artist. The band and the lovely employees at House Of Blues concerts, being the charitable people they are, have donated $15,000 in funds from the gigs to St. James Community Services Society Home Support Services, a local charity that provides assistance to people living in poverty, through Raising The Roof.

Matt and the boys are supposedly heading out on the road for a tour of eastern Canada and the U.S. Sadly our dirt digging methods failed to turn up when they would be touring, although MGB website, www.matthewgoodband.com, revealed that the details are forthcoming.

You can catch Matt on the tube on March 3. Much West is airing a special "behind the scenes" look at the band as well as a special on William Morrison, the director behind all the MGB videos, including the award winning "Apparitions."

In the MGB rumour mill section of Matt Good fansite runningforhome.com they have news that Sam Raimi, director of the upcoming Spiderman movie and the classic Evil Dead series, likes the MGB song "Hello Timebomb." So much he wants to include it on the soundtrack for the new Spidey flick which our spider senses tell us will be out next spring.

[Editor's Note: Imagine Raine Maida's expression if Good snags that coveted spot.]

Another juicy tidbit floating around is a possible Matt Good/Alanis Morrissette team-up. Tyler Pedrotti, the man behind the Running For Home website, said that he heard from a source at Universal Music Canada that the pair are tentatively talking about a joint venture. The nature of this collaboration is unknown at this time. This, as well as the last the bit in the last paragraph are just rumours, but we will let you know as soon as this is confirmed.
