Matthew Good Band's Four Night Stand

Hugely popular B.C. rockers the Matthew Good Band will be home for the holidays and are planning to celebrate with a few thousand of their closest friends.

The Yuletide party begins in Vancouver with a three-night stand at the legendary Commodore Ballroom before moving on to Kelowna for a big New Year's Eve bash.

MGB's Commodore shows will take place on December 27, 28 and 30. In keeping with the season's spirit of giving, a portion of ticket sales will go to St. James Community Service Society Home Support Services, an organization dedicated to providing home services for underprivileged people in Vancouver's east end.

Fans who want to see the band in an intimate setting and do a good deed at the same time can get tickets for the shows when they go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. While Christmas is a time for giving, fans are discouraged from making any shoe donations in the direction of the stage.

After three days at the Commodore Ballroom, the Matthew Good Band will be taking over Kelowna's Skyreach Palace to ring in 2001. The show, which is expected to draw 5,000 people, will include beverage gardens, a dance floor, reserved and general admission seating. Tickets for this event go on sale this Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
