The Robot Monster Tour 2000 Is Your Opportunity To Buy Us Beer

Rock fans that like to be freaked periodically are urged to check out The Monster Robot Tour 2000, which will be invading Montreal and Ottawa before wrapping up in Toronto this Sunday.Billed as "avant guard pop on a maximum entertainment crusade," the show is a futuristic vaudeville show which incorporates karaoke, performance and pro wrestling. It also features the perverse collective of Mocky, Taylor Savvy, Corpusse and The World Provider.
Most recently, Mocky has played bass with London, U.K. drum 'n' bass maestro Talvin Singh. He was also in one of the greatest Toronto bands of the '90s, The Shit, a shocking no wave band, which also included demo versions of fellow pranksters/ex-pat Canadians Peaches and Chilli Gonzales.
He is reluctant to admit to being the person who donned a gorilla costume and stormed Belle & Sebastian's now-legendary performance on The Top Of The Pops.
Taylor Savvy are a twisted vaudeville boy band decked out in suits and come off like a broken record version of Ween. That's a good thing. Corpusse already has a huge following in Montreal thanks to his Kabuki make-up, apocalyptic vocals and analogue synths.
Rounding out the bill is The World Provider, a one-man-band wreaking his distorted synth pop upon a needy globe.
"If you miss this, you're a fuckin' loser," warns Taylor Savvy's David Szgetti. "Guaranteed, you will leave a changed person. Guaranteed."
Don't be a loser. Come on out and contribute to the high-concept debauchery. They plan on playing each club until they get kicked out. Plus yours truly, Ernest J. Agbuya, will be there representing for Chart Magazine for an upcoming rundown of the tour.
I'll be the Filipino guy with the number one buzz cut.
If you love Chart, you can buy me a beer. [Editor's Note: Ernest is a cheap drunk and we'll go home with anyone.]
See ya!
