Sometimes it pays to be internationally famous. As a gesture of appreciation for augmenting "the glory and fame of Iceland," Iceland's Prime Minister will be giving Bjork her very own island.

According to NMEonline, the singer had inquired about purchasing mile-long Ellidaey Island from the government. When Prime Minister David Oddsson heard about her interest, he insisted that the island be given to Bjork as a token of appreciation for putting Iceland on the map. The island is said to be four miles off the coast of Iceland.

Bjork will be releasing her 17-CD box set A Selection Of Singles, which should be available in stores at the end of March. September will see the release of her first major movie, Dancer In The Dark.
