Ozzy's Wife Resigns As Smashing Pumpkins Manager, Slams Billy Corgan

Seems like Billy Corgan's ego has eclipsed someone else's again. With less than two months until the release of the new Smashing Pumpkins album, Machina/The Machines Of God, there's already turmoil brewing in the band's camp.

MTVNews reports that Sharon Osbourne announced she was resigning as manager of the Smashing Pumpkins, effective immediately. And in a statement released yesterday, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne and head of Osbourne Management put the blame squarely on the Pumpkins' frontman, Billy Corgan.

"It was with great pride and enthusiasm that I took on management of the Pumpkins back in October," Osbourne wrote, "but unfortunately I must resign today due to medical reasons — Billy Corgan was making me sick."

Osbourne, whose management company handles Ozzy, Black Sabbath, and Coal Chamber, also wrote that she was "saddened that I will no longer be working with such great and talented people as James Iha, Melissa Auf Der Maur, and Jimmy Chamberlin. I wish them much love." The group hired Osbourne Management in October after parting ways with its previous management firm, Q-Prime, in 1998.
