Karen O, "Ooo"
Spike Jonze directed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' video for "Y Control," and some of Karen O's music was featured on the soundtrack for Her, Jonze's latest film. They're buds. And sometimes when you're one of the best music video directors ever, you gotta give your bud a free one. Maybe it'll star Elle Fanning, maybe you'll film it during some down time from your one-act play at New York's Metropolitan Opera House. Specifics don't matter. Expect in this case. They're some pretty heartwarming specifics.
SBTRKT feat. Caroline Polachek, "Look Away"
I confess: I cannot watch this video. I do not have a camera installed on my Dell desktop. Hopefully this shames Chart Attack into buying me something good? Go to some other site if you want a pertinent description of staring into a computer woman's eyes. The track, on the other hand, is my favourite from the producer's new LP yet. Chairlift's Caroline Polachek takes the jazzy pianos and electro weirdness to another level with her top-tier vocals.
SBTRKT's new album Wonder Where We Land is out October 7 via Young Turks; pre-order it here.
Mac DeMarco, "This Guy's In Love With You"
Meet Mac DeMarco's new touring guitarist Andrew Charles White aka Andy Boay. He's behind two amazing releases in 2014, one solo and one with his brother in Tonstartssbandht. More importantly he also knows a thing or two about keepin' fit in the street. Watch him do push-ups, tour New York and offer some sincere and touching life advice below, while Mac plays covers Burt Bacharach's "This Guy's In Love With You."
Mac DeMarco's new album Salad Days is out now via Captured Tracks.
Nite Audit, "Casual Dad"
Not overbearing. Not even present. Casual. Your dreams of being the cool pot smoking, Henny sipping, flip flop selling Dad are manifested in Brooklyn lo-fi droner Nite Audit's new video, and the acid drenched stock photo reality isn't pretty.
