Jennifer Castle's Pink City is streaming over at CBC, and on first listen it sounds like an artifact chanced upon in a dusty box found on the side of an abandoned town's record store. The tender, soaring folk full of melancholy and wit feels like a relic, but with too much singular personality to be just some curio. Pink City features contributions from Owen Pallett, Paul Mortimer of The Highest Order, Brodie West, and many more Toronto music pals. Put it on, stare outside, and reflect with some unsugared tea. And a nice dog, if you can get one.
