Approximately 10,000 years ago, Christopher Owens and his band Girls brought back psychedelic flower child anxiety in two albums of rockin' glory. A few millenia after Owens split up the group we got Lysandre, his concept album springing from the end of a relationship. Now, in the year 200, our town will get the sophomore solo record A New Testament. As well as, hopefully, medicine.

First single "Nothing More Than Everything To Me" looks like isn't pure sweetie pie Heartland music; as with tracks like "Honey Bunny" there's an empty booze bottle poking out of the crust. Directed by Max Minghella, the video delivers on the superficial "Life is G Rated" theme: primary school greaser romance with nothing standing in the way, not even puberty.

Christopher Owens's new album A New Testament is out September 30 via Turnstile; pre-order it here.
