fka Twigs Two Weeks Music Video

Watch Queen FKA twigs address herself in “Two Weeks” music video

The pop star holds court.

Chartattack squiggle

The first FKA twigs EP came with four experimental videos that only added to the then-unseen R&B auteur's marketable mystery. By comparison, the framing and presence of the singer/producer/dancer in Nabil's "Two Weeks" clip is some halcyon MTV shit, when videos were charged with breaking or reinforcing a pop star through sheer gaudy spectacle of a forced watershed moment. Clones of twigs are both Cleopatra and the royal court in the video's jacking of Michael Jackson's Egyptian kitsch in "Remember The Time, "cut with the living portraiture of Kanye West's "Power." A sumptuous if slightly anachronistic rollout for alternative pop's next left-field hope.

FKA twigs' new album LP1 is out August 12 via Young Turks; pre-order it here.
