White Lung's "Face Down" video is fun, because roadtripping is good and so is causing a scene at every city's landmarks and burning effigies. Maybe burning the scarecrows symbolizes the "they" the punk band could have been if they hadn't signed to Domino Records. Or maybe it's the grievances that pile up when you share a car with other people, like who is the farting one? I imagine it would relieve all that tension, the stuff that builds in the brawny track. Its solos are tiny knives glinting from someone's belly, competing roars lashed together like siblings forced to work it out.

White Lung's new album Deep Fantasy is out June 17 via Domino; pre-order it here.
