Courtney Barnett Anonymous Club Music Video

Courtney Barnett hosts a monster party in “Anonymous Club” music video

The new video from the Australian indie singer/songwriter is like the really sad children's book your parents kept away from you.

Courtney Barnett's trance-inducing indie nebula, "Anonymous Club,"  is about her ideal get-together. No phones or anxieties. If there are any awkward pauses, it will be because you had too much fun up front and didn't save enough for the entire evening. The song's music video, animated by Celeste Potter, is not that gathering. Charming monsters are trapped in a black-and-white world filled with abstract shapes, their eyes (or eye) are (/is) filled with tears, and they puke up other, also ennui-stricken creatures. Next time remember the dip.

Courtney Barnett's new album The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas is out physically in North America for the first time today on Mom + Pop.
