Do you remember the first time you watched Sailor Moon or Akira, that moment when your first anime dream began to foment? Maybe you felt like a lost interstellar courier with powers, or a sex-hungry and sentient group of tentacles (I don't know what DVDs you got).
With his highly acclaimed sophomore album still a painful funky joy, Thundercat is now bravely L.O.H.A.D. (Living Out His Anime Dreams) in the double video for Apocalypse tracks "Evangelion/We'll Die." His involve a big sword, crazy pants, and wandering the wasteland on some Trigun meets Samurai Champloo shit. But for dimension, TC whips out that bass and sits dockside for a performance. So he's a bounty hunting funk god? I'm down.
