H.R., frontman for Bad Brains and the first human to successfully have his brain replaced with a cloud of weed smoke, gave an amazing interview with Noisey on the soon-to-be-released Bad Brains documentary “A Band In D.C.” and his band’s coming year.

As you might expect from a Rastafarian who plays snarling, seminal hardcore, H.R. is elusive, to say the least. He’s a polite, tangibly seraphic presence who talks like he’s only recently figured out how human beings communicate and is still ironing out the kinks. But that’s what makes the interview so entertaining; he discusses his celebrity connections, which include Jay-Z, Beyonce and Usher, and delivers a dissociative, borderline-lunatic R. Kelly story that I pray is true. He also mentions an upcoming album of new Bad Brains material entitled “Let’s Have Fun,” as well as a concurrent tour. How’s that for a Positive Mental Attitude?

Watch it below, and look out for probably excellent “A Band In D.C.”
