Last night Jay Leno invited Tennis to perform “Origins” from their new album Young & Old on his show. The husband and wife duo were joined by a (for them) downright expansive back end of a bass player, drummer and backup singers but still managed to sound like it was just the two of them onstage. Cause they're married.

This performance certainly adds fuel to the fire of the ongoing competition between them and Mates of State on who makes the more precious indie rock married duo. My money is still on Mates of State because of the child factor, but Alaina Moore’s Jay Leno hair-do certainly closes the gap. It’s like 80’s-era Nicole Kidman and Jurassic Park-era Laura Dern’s haircuts had a softer baby.
