Humans don’t know nearly as much as we should do about space, but if music videos for ethereal electro bands such as CSLSX’s “Aeromancer (ft. Mountain Man)” are any indication, it’s full of spacecrafts shaped like Dungeons & Dragons dice, with planets populated by humanoids with white light where their faces should be. Insert joke about New Jersey here.
In what’s essentially a ‘70s science-fiction illustrator’s acid trip, universes are born and glowing silhouettes beckon us into wormhole/centrifuge things that spit us out onto beaches where the only way to achieve Pure Being is to wade in the water for a few seconds. Then a galaxy will shoot out of your face. You’ll either be won over by the song’s textured, dreamy soundscapes, or see the vision of your own spiritual birth in the video’s imagery. So it’s a win-win either way.
