After years of dismissing rumours of a reunion and then actually doing it, post hardcore giants At The Drive In are now brushing off the thought of recording an album of new material.
In an interview with Kerrang! Magazine, singer/guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez said “Will there be a new album? No, no, no. At The Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing – it’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of shows.” Of course, this could all change once the band actually do the shows, which will likely be incredible; it’s easy to say that you’re just sleeping with your ex and that it’s not really anything, but then three years later you’re having your second kid together. So who knows.
At the very least, At The Drive in will be playing Benicassim and Coachella this year. If we’re lucky, it’ll be be just as electric as their performance of “One Armed Scissor” on Jools Holland, which you can stream below:
