With the announcement of recording session that exists between Black Keys lead singer Dan Auerbach and London soul sensation Michael Kiwanuka, the Keys have proven their undying affection for guitars and the noises they make, even if that guitar is being played halfway around the world in a comparitively sedate but no less powerful manner.
“It was great – really quick. We went and did it really quick at Ray Davies’s studio. It was nice,” Auerbach presumably mumbled, adding “Obviously his voice is amazing and the songs are cool,” before being cut off because the information was overloading the interviewer’s recording device. The song may never see the light of day, but the prospect alone is sure to whet the appetites of discriminating Keys fans and Kiwanuka managers alike.
