Following up appearances from St. Vincent and Isaac Brock, this Friday’s episode of Portlandia features a scene with acclaimed harpist Joanna Newsom as herself.
After a mind-freeing hippie harpfest with a handful of boheimian friends (including Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold), Newsom hitches a ride with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. But get this: her harp won’t fit in their car! What a zany scenario! A minute of fruitless harp cramming ensues, with lots of cartoony sound effects.
