If you were hoping to end your day by listening to music by a visual artist on public radio, NPR’s got you covered with an exclusive “first listen” of Grimes’s new album Visions.
The album’s so all over the place with its influences, anything could happen while you listen to it. A cool rapper could even walk in and go “Yo, what is this?” and you could matteroffactly say “Oh, I’m listening to this Grimes chick on NPR” and the rapper would say “It kinda sounds like she’s kidding but it’s ‘dope’. That skull on the cover is ‘fresh’, too.” And then you could both discuss how Ira Glass would be a cool uncle but maybe a bit flighty.
