It’s been two years after Phoenix released their unstoppable breakthrough album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, their explosively popular fourth album that wound up on countless best-of-the-year lists — numero uno for both the A.V. Club and Drowned in Sound — and put a grammy in the Frenchies’ hands. Next week will see the premiere of From a Mess to the Masses, a documentary that follows Phoenix as they embark on a year-long international tour for Wolfgang. Antoine Wagner — the man behind their film-heavy music video for “Lisztomania” – co-directs with Francisco Soriano. If you live in France or Germany, you can catch the film on Arte this Thursday.
