PJ Harvey, Adele, Elbow and James Blake are among the acts that have been nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize.
Katy B, Everything Everything, Metronomy, Anna Calvi, Ghostpoet, King Creosote And Jon Hopkins, Gwilym Simcock and Tinie Tempah are among those who’ve also made the list who 90 per cent of those North Americans reading this likely won’t have heard of.
The short list was revealed at London, England’s Hospital Club this morning, and the winner will be announced Sept. 6 at a ceremony hosted by Jools Holland. The winner will get a 20,000 prize.
The XX won last year’s Mercury Prize for their XX debut album.
