The lineup for this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest has been revealed, and as usual, it’s got something for everyone.
Indie rock kids will love acts like Death From Above 1979, Death Cab For Cutie, Mother Mother, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips, The Black Keys, Tegan And Sara, Diamond Rings, Winter Gloves and Yukon Blonde being on the bill.
Your idiot prog rock brother may dig the inclusion of Joe Satriani, while there’s plenty your dad will love, like Buddy Guy, Blue Rodeo, Peter Frampton, Cheap Trick, Steve Miller and even Wanda Jackson.
Our only nitpicky comment of this lineup is that it seems pretty slim on hip-hop.
Bluesfest takes place July 5 to 17 at Ottawa’s Lebreton Flats. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. EST through the festival’s website or capitaltickets.ca. Individual tickets will go for $40 to $60 (probably determined by the acts playing and whether you buy a ticket for a weekend or not), according to the Ottawa Citizen. The newspaper also reports week passes are going for $150, while full festival passes will cost you $250.
