Here you were, thinking the folks up north didn’t get any good festivals during the summer months.
Wrong.
The Dawson City Music Festival up in the Yukon is all sorts of good fun times every summer, and it’s initial lineup’s just been announced.
Yukon Blonde — appropriately enough — Shout Out Out Out Out, Shotgun Jimmie and Rich Aucoin will perform at the festival.
Nova Scotia singer/songwriter Amelia Curran, Canadian classic rockers Stampeders, folk legend David Essig and Nunavut’s Tanya Tagaq will also play sets at the event, which takes place July 15 to 17 at venues throughout Dawson City, Yukon.
Full festival passes are on sale through Yukon Tickets and by phone at (867) 667 8574, and they’ll run you $125. You can also buy them through the Yukon Arts Centre’s box office, Whitehorse’s Arts Underground or Dawson City’s Maxmillian’s Gold Rush Emporium.
Last year’s Dawson City Music Festival featured Constantines, Elliott Brood and Dan Mangan.
