The Black Keys took home two Independent Music Awards on Saturday night at a ceremony held at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel as part of Canadian Music Week.
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney were awarded the international single of the year and international album of the year trophies for “Tighten Up” and last year’s Brothers, extending their awards show reign past the Grammys and north of the 49th parallel.
Arcade Fire, who also won a Grammy Award earlier this year, took home the album of the year trophy for The Suburbs.
Other winners included The Sadies, Shad, Metric, Karkwa, Sleigh Bells and Alexisonfire.
