It turns out “OMG! Arcade Fire just won the album of the year Grammy Award! …Wait, who are they?!” was some people’s reaction last night (I’m looking right at you, Rosie O’Donnell…) when Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs took one of the most coveted Grammys of all. And their win is obviously getting a lot of attention today.
But let’s not forget some of the other winners. They included The Black Keys, who took two trophies home for last year’s Brothers album and their “Tighten Up.” They also won best recording package for Brothers‘ artwork.
Other winners of note included La Roux, Eminem, Muse, Them Crooked Vultures, The White Stripes… and Neil Young, who got his first ever Grammy for music. (He was honoured as MusiCares Person Of The Year last year, and won for best boxed or special limited edition package in 2010.)
