If “metal” to you means downtuned riffs accompanied by a backwards red cap, baggy pants or a chain link necklace, the lineup for this year’s Heavy MTL festival will be completely brosauce to you.
The bands playing the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will perform at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau on July 23 and 24 as part of Heavy MTL. Yes, that means Disturbed, Godsmack, In Flames, Machine Head, Trivium, Kingdom Of Sorrow, Red Fang, Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish and Straight Line Stitch will be on hand to bring the mosh.
The first annual Heavy T.O. festival will be held the same two days at Toronto’s Downsview Park. Its lineup hasn’t yet been announced, but should be confirmed sometime in March. Additional acts playing Heavy MTL will also be firmed up that month.
The news that both festivals will be on the same days isn’t sitting well with everyone, though. Some people have already pointed out on Heavy MTL’s Facebook page that they want to attend both and are angry because they now don’t have that opportunity.
