Margaret Atwood Hearts The Sadies

Margaret Atwood is probably one of the greatest Canadian writers to ever live, if not one of the greatest living writers period. She's influenced Canada and the world with her books and is still as influential as she was when she was younger.
If you're going, "Margaret Atwood wrote that boring Handmaid's Tale book I had to read in grade nine. It was such a bummer," stop. She is really effing cool.
Proof? She loves The Sadies.
Atwood appeared with the much beloved Toronto alt.country band on CBC Radio's Q yesterday to record one of their tunes. Yes, she sang with them. And then she went home, got all super nerdy and tweeted about it.
Yes, Margaret Atwood tweets. Stop saying senior citizens can't use computers. Margaret Atwood may be 70 years old, but she tweets. And she even made fun of "internetisms" and poked fun at teenagers while nerding out.
"Now I am a geeky old Sadies fan -- they put on ties 4 me!" she wrote yesterday. "OMG! And I got an Autographed Darker Circles CD! Swoon! (How'm I doing, fanwise?)"
Responses to fans on her Twitter indicate she got tons of replies from them, including one in which she received a "ZOMG" and a "squee!" She spent the rest of yesterday and early today retweeting responses her fans sent her when she asked if "'squee' is now a verb?"
It looks like The Sadies were also excited to hear Atwood likes them so much. They put her tweet about them on their Facebook page.
