Arcade Fire Are Spying On Your House

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire are officially Big Brother. Or they've teamed with them, at least.

The band's new video for The Suburbs' "We Used To Wait" is an interactive project with Google Maps. It's been put together by Chris Milk.

Basically, if you visit thewildernessdowntown.com, a built-in program asks you to enter the address of the house where you grew up. A video then loads, with incredibly creepy aerial and street Google Maps shots of that neighbourhood. I'm freaking out because I could see my mom's car from the air.

There's also a neat part where you can write a postcard full of advice to your younger self. And if you grew up like me, wanting to escape your suburban neighbourhood, you'll appreciate the multiple shots of a character (who's obviously meant to be you) running like hell through that neighbourhood's streets.

As awesome and creative as something like this, it's still a bit unnerving to see one's childhood home in a music video. We don't want to give too much away, but it's worth your while to visit thewildernessdowntown.com and check out the video.
