We asked a pile of our favourite musicians about their top albums of 2010. Here’s what Nate Sidon from The Schomberg Fair said:
1. High On Fire — Snakes For The Divine
I’m a sucker for a three-piece and I love High On Fire! As a long time
fan it’s been fun watching their sound develop over the years. On this
album the songs are consistently faster than the others and seem a
little closer to Motorhead than to Sleep. I love Matt Pike’s easily
identifiable voice and singing style and holy shit can Des Kensel
thunder on drums. We listen to this album on the road constantly and it
gets us pumped before shows. HOF’s live show’s better than ever too
and they played in plenty of towns in Canada on this tour instead of
just our largest cities, including shows in Kingston, Windsor, Hamilton
and London as well as Toronto in Ontario alone… yeah, I know that’s
irrelevant to the quality of an album but as a Canuck you’ve got to respect that!
2. Dead Meadow — Three Kings
3. The Pack A.D. — We Kill Computers
4. The Sadies — Darker Circles
5. White Cowbell Oklahoma — Viva Live Locos
