I’m sure you’ve all been wondering exactly what videos and TV shows people who watch MuchMusic and MTV find awesome in this new era in which both channels barely play videos. Hopefully these little lists will shine some light on that curiousity.
If you think the lists are going to be horrible, you’re on the right track.
Young Artists For Haiti’s video for K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” tops the list of most-watched videos on MuchMusic’s website this year. We’re actually not put off by that, since that was all for a good cause and K’Naan’s tune isn’t annoying.
But the rest of the list is a giant smattering of the predictable and predictably horrible.
Hedley, Stereos, Adam Lambert, Marianas Trench, Down With Webster, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, Drake, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Bruno Mars are among those who also made the list.
As for the most-watched shows on mtv.ca… you probably already know how this is going to look, so let’s just get it out of the way. The top five is as follows: Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, season six of The Hills (Jesus Christ! Six seasons?!), 16 And Pregnant and The City. Basically, kids these days enjoy shows about trashy socialites, idiocy and… the aftermath of not using a condom. Hopefully you kids learn something from all these shows: if anything, these shows should be evidence that using birth control is important (and that applies to every show listed here). You know what? It’s also really easy to use birth control.
