The System has been rebooted.
System Of A Down have officially confirmed they’ll reunite for a string of European festival dates in June.
“We are excited to announce that System will be playing some dates together in 2011,” the band wrote on their website. We also want to thank you for your loyalty and support, not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well.
“We have no master plan of sorts — we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans.
“We look forward to seeing all of you!”
So far the reunion only includes gigs in Europe, and it’s not known whether System have plans to add further dates in North America or elsewhere.
Rumours of a System reunion tour have been wafting around since the beginning of the year when bassist Shavo Odadjian tweeted, “Are u guys ready for System??” The band have been on hiatus since 2006 and have released solo albums and work with side-projects.
