Unfortunately for MuchMusic, it doesn’t get to play less videos than it already does.
Remember how back in May, MuchMusic formally asked the Canadian Radio-television And Communications Commission (CRTC) to have its license changed so it could play 50 per cent less music videos?
Well, the Canadian Press reports today that the CRTC denied the request, which would have seen Much reduce its actual video content to 25 per cent.
It also said MuchMusic couldn’t air any more “lifestyle programming” (which thankfully doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing more of Snooki’s face than you do already), reduce any Canadian content, decrease the number of French videos it shows, increase the amount of animated content it plays, or decrease the amount of money it gives to MuchFACT, which funds Canadian videos.
