TORONTO — The folks at CHARTattack.com are stoked to announce we’ll now be contributing regularly to CBC Radio 3′s own chart program, The R3-30.
This is going to be a match made in music/charts/math geek heaven.
Beginning this Friday, CHARTattack’s long-time charts editor Chris Burland will participate in a segment called “CHARTattack Way Back Track” as part of the three-hour The R3-30 broadcast.
The segment, which will appear every second week, will feature Burland mining the historical depths of CHARTattack.com’s weekly Canadian Campus Radio Top 50 chart and its predecessor CHART Magazine’s monthly Top 50 chart to add that little extra something to The R3-30′s broadcast.
“The history of indie music has long been an integral part of The R3-30,” says Pedro Mendes, R3-30 producer, “and Chris, with his intimate knowledge of almost 20 years of CHARTattack hits, will take our show to a new level of depth and relevance. Plus, he always brings pie. We love pie.”
The R3-30 counts down the week’s top 30 Canadian indie rock singles as determined by radio play and listener feedback. It can be heard on cbcradio3.com and Sirius radio, 11 a.m. eastern each Friday. You can also subscribe to the podcast version of the show through iTunes or at the R3-30 page.
CHARTattack has been compiling the Top 50 Canadian Campus Radio Chart, along with its genre-specific companion charts World/Folk, Metal/Punk, Jazz/Blues, Electronic and Hip-Hop since 1990. These charts are updated weekly HERE.
Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs has been the current #1 on the CHARTattack Top 50 for six straight weeks.
