Yo, Bay Street banker types (who probably aren't even reading this story anyway, but whatever…)! You might want to stay late after work tomorrow night instead of rushing down the street at a frustratingly fast pace, attache case in hand, jostling everyone out of the way to catch that GO train back home.
Why? Well, Metric are playing a free show at Union Square Plaza near Union Station, located at 65 Front St. W. The gig gets started at 7 p.m. ET, and it goes without saying that there'll be a lot of people there because, well, it's Metric and yes, it's free.
Now, we know you probably don't have enough time to go all the way home on that train, get out of your suit, change into more "rock 'n' roll" clothes and hop back on another train to the city, so we suggest you bring a change of clothes in your bag so you won't swelter in that suit. Or you could just show up and have everyone stare at you.
Metric have a new song, "Black Sheep," on the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World soundtrack. The film's out Aug. 13.
Singer/keyboardist Emily Haines, guitarist Jimmy Shaw, bassist Josh Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key have these dates on their tour itinerary:
