I'll bet Robertson Taylor don't want Bono to ever hurt his back again.
Britain's The Sun tabloid reports the music industry insurers and brokers for Lloyd's Of London ended up paying £11 million (about $17 million Canadian) for the U2 frontman's injury, a slipped disc he sustained while dancing during a rehearsal.
The good news is Bono's fine now, but as previously reported, his injury forced the band to reschedule the North American tour that was to take place this summer. It'll now go down next year. But Bono will return to the stage earlier when U2 begin touring Europe in August.
Things look like they're getting better for U2's Spider-Man musical as well.
Rehearsals for the perpetually delayed Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark will begin on Aug. 18 according to The New York Times, though no opening date or other performance dates have been announced yet.
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark was sidelined in 2009 due to financial issues, and its stars, Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler, True Blood) and Alan Cumming (The L Word, X2), dropped out of their respective roles as Mary Jane Watson and The Green Goblin earlier this year. Previews had previously been scheduled to take place in October, with the official opening slated for sometime in November, though that's not confirmed.
Meanwhile, before U2 head back on the road, they're redoing "Grace" and "All I Want Is You" with former Blackstreet member Dave Hollister, according to Hollister's Twitter. It's not known if any more songs will be reworked, or whether the project will be turned into anything more substantial like an album or single. Let's hope Bono doesn't hurt his back doing some sick dance moves to "All I Want Is You" mashed up with "No Diggity" in the studio.
