Monotonix No Longer Banned From ATP Venue Thanks To Pavement

It would seem Stephen Malkmus and company have sway over more people than just hipsters who were only in kindergarten when Pavement were releasing their first few albums.

The band, who are curating All Tomorrow's Parties at Minehead, England's Butlin's Holiday Resort this coming weekend, and Monotonix are on the lineup.

To some, that might seem strange. The insane Israeli trio were banned by the venue after playing All Tomorrow's Parties in 2008 when a fan attacked a festival representative for no reason.

But according to Prefix, Pavement's Bob Nastanovich got ATP to put the band on the bill, so long as Monotonix perform on specifically on the stage (that's kind of anathema to them, but we assume they'll find some way around it). At any rate, we assume the stage will be completely destroyed after the band's set, which will probably be around 15 minutes long, anyway. Good luck following them, Omar Souleyman.

Monotonix's Fun, Fun, Fun/Try, Try, Try is out in June.
