Vancouver singer/songwriter Dan Mangan will release an EP called Roboteering in March, and will head out on the road to promote it.
Roboteering will be available through iTunes, Zunior and other online outlets on March 10, and you can also buy it at Mangan’s shows and pre-order it at his revamped website. Hard copies will be available in stores through File Under: Music on April 7.
The five-song EP is intended to be a teaser for Mangan’s new full-length album, Nice, Nice, Very Nice, which he recorded with John Critchley (Elliott Brood, Holy Fuck) late last year. The album will be released in August.
The EP’s first three tracks will be included on Nice, Nice, Very Nice. They feature guest appearances from singer/songwriter Veda Hille, Mark Berube and Elliott Brood’s Mark Sasso. Roboteering also features a re-recorded version of Mangan’s "Till I Fall" demo and a guest appearance from Canadian poet Shane Koyczan on "Tragic Turn Of Events/Move Pen Move."
You can preview "Robots" and "The Indie Queens Are Waiting" on Mangan’s MySpace page and website.
The 25-year-old Mangan released his critically acclaimed Postcards And Daydreaming debut album in 2005. He’s since toured with Elliott Brood, The Acorn, Patrick Watson, Hey Rosetta!, Said The Whale and Mother Mother.
