Here's another episode of City Sonic, the cross-platform series of 24 short documentaries in which Toronto artists discuss the bars where they started their careers.
In this episode, which was directed by Peter Lynch (Arrowhead, Project Grizzly), the Barenaked Ladies' Tyler Stewart dishes about CityTV's Speakers' Corner booth and UltraSound Showbar on Queen St. W. It's now a spa called Civello that's just around the street from the Chum building. Queen West was a much different place in the early '90s — it was less trendy, more artsy and a lot more quirky.
