Rosie Lowe, last heard singing on Lil Silva's uplifting “No Doubt,” breaks out on her own for “Me And Your Ghost,” the first single off her new EP co-produced by kwes., who we chatted with last week. Her voice has a classic melancholy that's perfect for spreading thick over sweaty club beats, but here they're given room to glide slowly over similar themes of loss and heartbreak. Thanks to jarring spikes of static, the song feels like it's been lifted from a corrupted hard drive and seared with instruments from different songs. The digital clutter is perfect, though, and even natural. The song's anxiety and conflict is a dizzying rush on par with a surge of beautiful, sad endorphins.
The Right Thing EP is out December 2nd on 37 Adventures.
