Drake finally got a long-gestating James Blake feature on his new album, but first Chance The Rapper's giving us a full taste of what good rap would sound like over the singer/songwriter's chilly sounds. In contrast to the rough sonics and instrumentals remakes that helped distinguish Lil Wayne's Dedication series, this remix is tweaked and refined. Higher maintenance. There's not a crinkle in sight, not even when it introduces a morph from tenderly synthesized tundra to sizzling boom-bap shaker. The thing's mainly a showcase for Chance, his underrated singing voice relegating Blake's to backup, and his very-rated rapping turning in some reliably great verses. Listen below via Noisey.
