Trinidad James‘ “All Gold Everything” is a hit. Lebron James is miming it on live TV. Even the animals are getting in on the fun. And now the inevitable remix has hit like a (censored, radio-ready) thunderclap, with T.I., Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz dropping verses. The beat is such stupid fun that any air of menace in the lyrics just melts away, bringing a new injection of ironic silliness to T.I. and Jeezy’s raps about guns and brawling. But it’s 2 Chainz, the rapper with probably the best sense of humour in the game, who makes the beat work best. I don’t know if he has a head cold or if he was trying to sound like Dr. Evil, but I hope he stays rapping like this. Totally down.
