Spectral Park's “L'appel du Vide” has all the subtlety of an anxiety attack. It's psyche-rock with the wheels blown out, ten cop cars still trailing behind it's sparking heap. Even when the torrid guitar lines exhaust themselves with a puff of reverb at the song's end, it's almost as though they aren't ending, just being called back somewhere. This is some eye of newt, toe of frog psyche rock - some strings here, some Zombies-fashioned organs there, all for a witches' brew that steams with a frantic power all its own and perhaps not of this earth.
