[listen] VAR – “The Boy Or The Boot”

As part of Sacred Bones’ Five Years of Sacred Bones anthology, Var have recorded and released a new song “The Boy Or The Boot.” Two bars worth of chilly synths dominate the entire song, and regrettably penetrate the fog that Var had previously built for their previous singles. Some of the atmosphere endures, though, thanks to the distant, yelled vocals and a mysterious sample. The song and the anthology it’s on will be sold exclusively at the label’s anniversary show in Cali on December 21st, which is an interesting way of doing things.
