Jonny Pierce, lead singer of The Drums and all-around good sport, is striking out on his own, dropping his first solo track “I Didn’t Realise [sic]” from an upcoming LP. If you relished the buzzy bits that broke up the jangly indie pop of The Drums’ Portmento, “Realise” is for you. It resembles to the crushing electronic typhoon of Var, but Pierce’s trademark droopy, good-guy vocals bring light to the glitchy, poppy mayhem.
