Here’s two new songs from MMG varmint Gunplay, the unusually radio-ready “Drop,” and “The Hard Way,” full of the rapper’s reliably great stream-of-consciousness. “Drop” is fiery and creative drug rap written from the perspective of a re-up delivery, a new twist in a genre that’s saturated with dealer tales. “The Hard Way” has a beat that’s more traditionally trap, but Gunplay’s lyrics sound better suited for a battle. “Drop” is taken from Gunplay’s Def Jam debut Medellin, out January. Who knows where “The Hard Way” is from.
