Ambient producer Eluvium (Matthew Cooper) is switching gears with his latest literary-referencing mechanical project Martin Eden. We’ve heard the conveyor-belt “Worker” and now he’s dropped the B-side to his upcoming 7”, the obscurely titled “Mothernails (for daren .1).” A clashing production where a quiet elevating synth line gently counters the machine gun drums, Matthew Cooper provides some unsettling vocals as the drums unravel further, unfurling into a chaotic mess of corroding machinery being dropped into a vat of molten steel.
Martin Eden 7” drops September 17 via Lefse Records.
