Today’s a good day for inevitable collaborations. An unfinished demo of Tyler, the Creator and Toro y Moi’s first collaboration in earnest has leaked and you can stream the thing below. But before you do, a few things: This is a kinder, gentler, but no less skilled Tyler. It’s his first lovesick rap that I can recall where he doesn’t threaten to rape and murder the object of his affection. He pulls it off! “See I’m the new shit in town/How about about we match together and make new browns, how that sound?” Sounds technically proficient and really funny, dude! Mr. Moi’s yacht funk has the same sort of soulful tinge as some of Tyler’s compositions, creating a smooth ride that will have you floating by the time Tyler growls “Sounds cool to me.”
